clay handbuilding:
create your own
clay vessel
With Leah Rushing
Dig into your creativity to handbuild a vessel stoneware piece of your choosing. During this two part workshop* the intention is for you to imagine a vessel where you'd keep your most precious small belongings. An altar, a small or large dish, maybe a wall hanging or maybe a box! Whatever you choose, let it be made fully for you, by you.
If this is your first time experimenting with clay, have no fear for you will be guided and supported with insights from conception to completion.
A cup of cacao will be offered as an option to drink prior as an optional heart opener.
Clay, tools and (decorative fun) will be provided.
*As a group, we will decide on the date and time of the second session to complete your vessels
LEAH RUSHING
As a parent and potter of over two decades, Leah’s first loves in life are art and human connection. Her work has led her to open her own studio, Late Waning Pottery, where she specializes in custom handmade ceramics.
Starting ceramics in high school gave Leah a chance to work with many great teachers throughout her life. She has had the honor of being in several different art gallery showings and takes her craft seriously with continuing education and testing her skills to stay ever improving. In the Clay & Cacao workshops, Leah hopes to inspire others to express themselves in ways they may not have thought to, and hold space for parents to be fully present and get a little muddy.
