FAQ
  • What is space?

space is a vibrant community where children and their parents come together to cultivate deep connections through mindfulness, creativity and communal support.

    Who are we?

Rachel and Michelle are sisters and mothers who craved a space for genuine connection with others in their community alongside their children. Rachel has a background in healing and psychology and has been a facilitator for over 9 years. Michelle’s education is in art and her career background spans over 13 years in marketing. Together, they decided to create space, a multifaceted place that encompasses art, healing, and connection. Rachel and Michelle grew up in Morrison, Colorado and currently reside in the Denver area with their families. Our aim is for every meaningful experience within space to inspire positive change beyond our walls creating a better place, starting within.

    What does space offer?

Drop-in Paint + Pause sessions where children can paint and parents can take a pause (without a mess to clean), Monday Morning Meditations for parents to organize their mind before the start of the new week, Monthly Cacao Meditations for people to enjoy cacao while being led through meditation, mindfulness and emotional-wellness focused workshops for children and parents to do together or separately. space also opens its doors to birthday parties or any celebratory gathering with the unique activity of being able to paint on the walls. Event rentals sans paint are also available. View all experiences here.

What are the hours of operation?

space is open based on Paint + Pause, Meditation and Workshop schedule. View schedule here.

What's the painting on the wall about?

Children (and adults!) are encouraged to paint directly on our painting wall, allowing for boundless creativity and underlying mindfulness teachings like introducing the concept of impermanence (paint is washed away after every session or event), awareness (creating mindfully in a space with other masterpieces), and boundaries (it’s okay to paint on the walls at space but not on the walls at home). We use non-toxic, water-based, washable paint. For a full ingredient list, please reach out.

    The making of space:

Rachel’s husband Luke handcrafted all of the furniture and shelving in space. An elm tree was used to create the space desk, the space sink counter, and the backspace counter. An ash tree was used to create the tables at space. Both trees came from the surrounding Wheat Ridge area.

  • Parent and child workshops

Combined parent and child workshops enhance bonding, connection, and understanding of one another. These workshops provide an opportunity for vulnerability and communication while focusing on the importance of emotional wellness. Workshops that are offered to both parents and children are structured to be age-appropriate.

    Children workshops

Workshops for children focus on mindfulness and emotional wellness, providing tools through breathing techniques, creativity, and communication. Children-focused workshops provide tools for children to become confident in themselves and in the way they communicate. These workshops are structured to be age-appropriate.

    Parent workshops

Intended for parents to take space for themselves. Workshops offer mindfulness, connection, and creativity through various modalities. Parent-focused workshops are a powerful way to energetically recharge and take time to slow down without the kids around.
