Shibori homewares: Design + Create your own set of Raw Silk Table Linens
With Rachael Levine of ARAE
In this 2.5hr workshop you will take a deep dive into creativity. Design your own table runner and napkins using the ancient art of Shibori, a Japanese tie dye technique.
We will go over different methods of dyeing, and look over samples to give you inspiration into designing your own set of table linens. Feel free to bring your own ideas/inspo you'd like to try, or be in the moment and see where your creativity takes you. The fabric we will be working with is Raw Silk, it is a thicker fabric similar to cotton, and takes up color extremely well, giving fast results in the dye bath.

Prioritizing zero waste design has lead way to fabric manipulation techniques including weaving/braiding, twisting, patchwork, and applique, mainly with silk chiffon and boiled wool.
