A Mother's Circle
With Brooke Barrett
These Mother’s Circles are designed as spaces to slow down, reflect, and explore the realities of family life in community.
Each circle blends conversation, experiential exercises, and guided reflection to help mothers better understand the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and patterns that shape everyday moments at home. Rather than focusing on fixing or “getting it right,” these workshops invite participants to become curious about what’s happening beneath the surface, within themselves, their children, and the family system as a whole.
Mothers will leave each circle with greater understanding, practical insight, and a deeper awareness of how to respond with more compassion, flexibility, and intention in the moments that matter most.
Understanding the Mind & Emotions in Family Life - Wednesday, May 13
“Thoughts and feelings are signals, not commands.”
This workshop explores how the human mind naturally generates thoughts, worries, and predictions as a way of trying to keep us safe. Participants also learn to view emotions as meaningful signals rather than problems that need to be eliminated. Mothers begin noticing how internal experiences influence their responses in family life and how creating space for those experiences can lead to greater clarity.
Mothers walk away with:
A new way of relating to their thoughts and emotions so they can respond to family moments with greater steadiness and awareness.
Behavior, Workability & Variability - Tuesday, June 9
“There is always another way to respond.”
In this workshop, participants explore a new way of understanding behavior—not as good or bad, but as patterns that develop within context and serve particular functions in family life. Mothers learn how both their reactions and their children’s behavior are shaped by learning history and reinforcement, and how flexibility grows when we begin experimenting with new responses.
Mothers walk away with:
Greater curiosity about behavior and the confidence to try new responses that better support the kind of family life they want to create.
Environment & Family Systems - Wednesday, July 8
“Environment shapes behavior.”
The final workshop explores how family environments—including routines, expectations, physical spaces, and emotional climates—shape behavior within families. Participants reflect on how small shifts in the environment can support independence, communication, curiosity, and emotional safety for both children and parents.
Mothers walk away with:
Practical ideas for creating family environments and rhythms that support their values and help both parents and children thrive.
Brooke Barrett is a mother, parent coach, and children's book author who supports mothers and families in navigating big emotions with compassion and intention. Drawing from her background in behavior science and education, Brooke helps families better understand the contexts shaping their reactions and practice responding in ways that feel more aligned with what matters.
Her workshops blend reflection, embodied practices, and shared experience, helping families change the way they relate to the thoughts and feelings in their minds—so they can respond with more flexibility, understanding, and care. These spaces invite mothers to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and feel supported rather than evaluated.
