BUILDING CONNECTION THROUGH PLAY
With Oceann Gittens, PhD from Ardent Grove
Wednesday, September 30
12:00pm - 1:30pm
For parents + children ages 2-5

The play skills that help your kid feel truly seen, practiced together in 90 minutes.

Building Connection Through Play is a hands-on workshop for parents/caregivers and their kids (ages 2 to 5), built around PRIDE: praise, reflection, imitation, description, and enjoyment. Real, evidence-based play skills that build attachment, strengthen communication, and make cooperation feel a little less like a battle.

You will learn the skills together in the room, practice them on each other, and leave with tools you can actually use that same afternoon.

What you'll practice together
-
Praise: noticing and naming what's going right
-
Reflection: showing your kid you're really listening
-
Imitation: following their lead (this one's the game changer)
-
Description: narrating play without steering it
-
Enjoyment: the part that makes the rest stick
